Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the only superstar to have crossed from country into the mainstream, and to become an international icon of pop culture. Swift removed her roots in the country like they were a second skin to reveal that she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation one who could harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and also perform the reverse. Swift's first hits, particularly their neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. However, her album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless became a massive success not only in the United States with six singles were declared platinum, on top of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across all over the world. Swift soared to the top of the charts when she released Speak Now. Swift's popularity grew over the course of her three subsequent albums - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in the genre she was a part of. Even when she scaled back her strategy with 2020's stripped down sister album folklore, and Evermore she continued to be atop of the charts, a place that she maintained through re-recordings from her back catalog along with Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 set.
