Despacito A song performed by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It was the top streaming music of that time within six month. The song is a blend of reggaeton, pop and rock did not only bring attention to reggaeton but it also drew interest to Latin music in general. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016 compared to two songs from the year 2015. At the peak of Despacito's fame the track was among 19 that mostly in Spanish made it to the Top 100. In 2020 the number will increase to 41 songs in this category. After Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake and Bad Bunny have collaborated to record MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma on Medellin, Madonna and Maluma worked together on Medellin and Medellin in 2019 Reggaeton's most prominent performers were unhappy about the trend toward mainstream music in 2020. However, a brand new group, Rauw alejandro, was trying to change the course. He often used elements of electronic dance music, in addition to other styles.
