Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been television personality, journalist, television philanthropist and author for more than ten years. She is also the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online newsmagazine. Born in Greece she came to England at the age of 16 after which she graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was voted as president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following graduation, she left her impression as an independent syndicated columnist, as well as with the launch of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created an online voice platform that offered critical observations regarding the current political situation. The fame of Arianna brought in a variety of famous contributors to share their views about politics, news and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall campaign in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. In addition, she directed a Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the 12th-highest ranked woman in media in 2009, and Guardian also ranked her on the top 100 list of media the same year. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media group which included many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management advisor and journalist. Although she had a close friendship with both her mother and father but it was their connection which helped mold her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. She moved to England at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third and first female to be elected the president. After graduating in 1972, she received an advanced degree in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. She also appeared in the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books after receiving editorial advice from Bernard Levin.
